What’s my story?

Sydney was born and raised in Corvallis, Oregon, home of the Oregon State Beavers and where the rain is less of a weather pattern and more of a lifestyle. She has been performing since she was 8 when she was a chipmunk in The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. In High School, Sydney started taking ballet classes and found her love of dance. The one time she auditioned for the Nutcracker, she was cast as Clara and used her acting skills to help the story come to life. During Covid, she found herself going to the driving range at her local golf course to get out of the house. She then joined her high shool’s Golf team where she was a varsity athlete for 2 years. When she is home, she likes to go back and play a round of golf.

After graduating high school, she packed up her rain jacket and Hydroflask and moved from her small Pacific Northwest town across the country to spend her next 4 years at Emerson College in Boston. There she participated in many student productions as an actor and a choreographer as well as danced with Emerson Dance Company. In addition for her love of performing Sydney found her love of Sign Language. Growing up with a deaf member in her family, she was always interested in learning American Sign Language but never found the time until Emerson. There she learned from deaf adults in the Boston area and now has a minor in Hearing and Deafness. She wants to use this to advocate for the deaf community in the arts by making it more accessible on stage and in the theatre.

Summer of 2025, Sydney was cast in the 88th season of The Lost Colony. There she found a passion for Stage Combat and got certified in two weapons (Unarmed and Single Sword). She wants to continue to train and get certified in more weapons.

Now being a Senior, Sydney is ready for whatever is next for her. She wants to continue to tell stories, old or new, and to inspire people about theatre the way others have for her.
